Hybrid Flooring in Warragul & Gippsland

The rigid-core floor that combines the best of timber and vinyl — warm, waterproof, dimensionally stable and built for Gippsland homes.

ABOUT THE FLOORING

The floor designed to handle everything Gippsland throws at it.

Hybrid flooring is the evolution of both engineered timber and vinyl planks — a stone-composite rigid core with a realistic timber-look wear layer that won't swell in bathrooms, won't shrink in winter or expand in summer, and doesn't need the care real timber demands. It's why hybrid has become the go-to choice for Gippsland renovators who want premium timber aesthetics without the trade-offs.

WHY IT WORKS

Why hybrid has become Gippsland's most popular renovation floor.

Rigid core stability

The stone-polymer composite core doesn't move with temperature or humidity changes — critical in Gippsland's variable climate where other floors buckle and gap.

100% waterproof

The full board construction is waterproof from top to bottom — safe for bathrooms, kitchens and laundries without modification.

Timber aesthetics, no care

High-definition printing and embossed-in-register texturing delivers genuine timber warmth and character without oiling, sanding or polishing.

Thicker boards, better feel

At 6–10mm, hybrid boards feel more solid underfoot than thin vinyl planks — closer to the feel of engineered timber.

Built-in acoustic underlay

Most hybrid boards include a pre-attached acoustic underlay layer for better sound insulation between floors and improved underfoot comfort.

Suitable for most substrates

Floats over concrete slabs, existing tiles and timber subfloors without adhesive in most applications — quick, clean installation.

QUESTIONS WE HEAR A LOT

The hybrid flooring FAQ.

How much does hybrid flooring cost installed in Warragul?

Entry hybrid from $55–$80 per square metre installed. Mid-range family hybrid $80–$120 per square metre. Premium 10–12mm hybrid $120–$160 per square metre. Fixed-price quotes after a free measure.

What's the difference between hybrid and vinyl planks?

Both are waterproof rigid-core floating floors. Hybrid is typically thicker (6–12mm vs 4–8mm for SPC vinyl), often has better surface texture, and provides a more substantial underfoot feel closer to engineered timber. The distinction is narrowing as quality improves across both product ranges.

Is hybrid flooring suitable for all rooms including bathrooms?

Yes. Hybrid flooring is 100% waterproof and can be installed in bathrooms, laundries and kitchens. Standard floating installation is used, with sealer applied at wall junctions and threshold transitions.

Can hybrid go over existing tiles?

In most cases yes, provided the tiles are flat and sound. Tiles that are hollow-sounding, cracked or raised at edges need to be assessed. We check during the free measure and advise whether tiles need to be removed or can be floated over.

Does hybrid work with underfloor heating?

Most hybrid boards are compatible with hydronic underfloor heating to a maximum subfloor temperature of 27°C. Electric in-slab heating is also generally compatible. We confirm compatibility for your specific product before installation.

How does hybrid compare to engineered timber?

Hybrid is more waterproof (engineered timber is not waterproof), more dimensionally stable, and significantly lower maintenance. Engineered timber has a real wood top layer that can be sanded and re-coated. Hybrid cannot be sanded but never needs to be. For most Gippsland family homes, hybrid is the better practical choice.
