Laminate Flooring in Warragul & Gippsland
Timber-look floating floors with AC4-rated durability and easy maintenance — supplied and installed by Gippsland's experienced flooring team.
The cost-effective timber look for high-traffic family areas.
Laminate flooring remains one of the most cost-effective ways to get a quality timber look in living areas, bedrooms and hallways. Modern AC4 and AC5 rated laminates are harder-wearing than many people expect, and the print technology has caught up significantly — realistic wood grain, stone looks and wider plank formats have made laminate a genuine design option rather than just a budget fallback. The key is choosing the right AC rating for your use and getting the subfloor prep right.
Why laminate remains a smart choice for Gippsland family homes.
AC4/AC5 rated durability
Commercial-grade AC4 and AC5 laminates outperform many hard flooring types in scratch resistance — ideal for high-traffic hallways, family areas and rental properties.
Wide format planks
Modern laminate is available in long, wide planks (up to 2400mm x 240mm) that create a convincing timber look with fewer visible joins.
Click-lock installation
Laminate clicks together quickly over most existing substrates — no adhesive required for most residential applications. Clean, fast installation.
Easy maintenance
Sweep and damp mop. No oiling, sealing or specialist cleaning required. One of the lowest-maintenance floor surfaces available.
Huge design variety
From blonde Scandinavian oak to dark walnut, grey weatherboard and concrete looks — laminate offers more pattern variety than almost any other floor type at this price point.
Budget-friendly price point
The most cost-effective way to achieve a quality timber look in a large area. Dramatically lower cost per square metre than engineered timber or hybrid.

Standard Laminate (8mm AC3)
Entry-level laminate for bedrooms and lower-traffic areas. Good print quality, click-lock, foam underlay required. Suitable for dry residential areas.
AC4 Family Laminate
10–12mm AC4 rated laminate with HDF core and realistic embossed surface. Better sound dampening, more impact-resistant, suitable for full living area use. Our most recommended laminate grade for Gippsland family homes.
AC5 Premium Laminate
Commercial-grade 12mm AC5 laminate for the highest-traffic residential use. Extremely scratch and impact resistant. Wide plank formats for open-plan living areas.

The laminate flooring FAQ.
How much does laminate flooring cost installed in Warragul?
Standard AC3 laminate from $35–$55 per square metre installed including underlay and trims. AC4 family laminate $55–$80 per square metre. AC5 premium laminate $80–$110 per square metre. Fixed-price quotes after a free measure.
Is laminate flooring waterproof?
Standard laminate is NOT waterproof — it should not be used in bathrooms, laundries or kitchens where water sits on the floor. The HDF core swells irreversibly when wet. For wet areas, we recommend vinyl planks or hybrid flooring instead.
What AC rating do I need?
AC3 for light residential use (bedrooms, guest rooms). AC4 for normal residential use (living areas, hallways, family homes). AC5 for high-traffic residential or light commercial. We recommend the right rating based on how you'll actually use the floor.
Can laminate go over existing tiles or timber?
In many cases yes — laminate can float over flat existing tiles or timber floors. The substrate must be flat — high spots cause bounce and joint stress. We check and advise on any levelling during the free measure.
How does laminate compare to vinyl planks?
Laminate often has a more convincing timber look and feel, and is typically cheaper. However, it's not waterproof — vinyl planks are fully waterproof. For dry areas, laminate is excellent value. For anywhere near water, choose vinyl planks or hybrid.
Do you supply only, or do you install?
Both. Supply-only for trade or DIY, or full supply-and-install with our crew handling subfloor prep, underlay, install and all trims. Most Gippsland customers go full install to get the subfloor preparation right.
